James, also known as "Nagar Baul" or "Guru," is a celebrated Bangladeshi rock singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Born as Faruq Mahfuz Anam on October 2, 1964, in Naogaon, Bangladesh, he rose to fame as one of the pioneers of rock music in the country, helping shape the genre and inspiring generations of fans and musicians. His gritty voice, unique style, and magnetic stage presence earned him the title "Guru" from his fans, solidifying his influence on Bangladesh’s contemporary music scene.


James started his music career in the 1980s, founding the rock band *Feelings* (later known as *Nagar Baul*).
